Eastern Shipbuilding Delivers the F/T Araho

In late January, Florida-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group delivered the DNV-classed factory processor fishing trawler F/T Araho (Hull 175) to the O’Hara Corporation of Rockland, Maine. The new vessel, to fish in the waters of Alaska and the North Pacific, is the first US flag freezer processor factory trawler constructed in more than 25 years.

The latest in a series of new Bering Sea boats headed to Alaska was built on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is owned by a Maine company, making it a truly tri-coastal, all-American vessel. The DNV-classed Araho is the first newbuild U.S.-flagged freezer processor factory trawler in more than 25 years.
